God places a tremendous value on each one of us and has gifted us with many unique talents. Our desire and goal for the Women of Worth ministry is to enable each woman to use her gifts in various ministries for the cause of Christ.
Colossians 1:10, our theme verse, says, "That we may have a walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God."
Each year over 200 women travel to various locations for a 3-day, 2 night conference. It's a memorable time of inspiration from God's Word, fun, food, fellowship and relaxation. This "get away" is a favorite of all who attend.
We have wonderful times of fellowship at our Ladies' Nite Out gatherings sponsored by WOW three times a year. All ladies 18 years and older are welcome.
This ministry is focused on meeting the needs of people who are hurting, whether physically, emotionally or spiritually. Our women visit the sick, write cards and make phone calls to minister and encourage others. Several service activities are scheduled to extend our outreach to the surrounding community. WOW Ministries organizes various banquets and dinners throughout the year such as New Members' Luncheon and Valentine's Banquet. These are a great opportunities to fellowship and meet new people in our church.
This ministry provides a delicious home-cooked meal for a nominal price on Wednesday nights before Oasis. Special "Kidz Meals" are prepared for young children. Please sign up by 2:00 pm on Mondays at the church Welcome Center or call Patti Berry at 301-249-7001 ext. 146, to attend our Taste of Home dinner.
We provide meals through the network of church families for those members who have had illness, hospitalization or a death in the family. This is done in coordination with the Bible study classes.
This ministry helps provide support to our college students through care packages, cards and notes of encouragement while away at school.
This ministry offers an opportunity for women to reach out to others and enjoy different sports throughout the year and be fit both spiritually and physically. We have women's basketball, softball and bowling leagues.
Small groups meet weekly for topical studies to enable women to grow spiritually in their everyday lives and share thoughts and prayer requests. There are also service projects with devotional time that give our ladies an opportunity to minister at various locations in our community.
This program is designed to allow women an opportunity to grow spiritually with the help of a mentor. A 6-week commitment is required for those entering the program. It is a great opportunity for a mentor/mentee to grow together in Christ.
